What a wonderful gift idea! I was struggling to find an appropriate
gift to give our relatives in Germany. The book was absolutely perfect.
What better way to show our German family a little bit of our hometown,
Glens Falls, New York. Mary personally delivered the book because I
needed it that day! Wow, what service. I brought the book to Germany with
me and presented it to the family and they loved it! I also ordered the book
and coloring book for my great nephews who are 4 and 1. I love that it’s a
local story with a local author. This will definitely be a gift I select for other
people.
Diane says…

I thought it was very cute and funny at times along with being very

brought to life on those pages really stood out in Anthony’s work and the
way you wrote the book, Mary.

selected to life in a relatable way, while highlighting Queensbury.

We loved the Christmas tree book! Especially that the tree was
located from our hometown in Queensbury and ended up on the
Rockefeller Center Stage. What an impressive trip! Thank you to my best

Jan says…
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The 91st Tree from Queensbury by Mary Jean DeSantis. After visiting New York City countless times to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, I often wondered where this magnificent tree came from each year, how it was chosen, transported, decorated, and what happened to the tree after the Christmas holidays. All of my questions were answered in this delightful true story. Join elementary school teacher, Miss Romano, as she reveals the magic of the 91st Christmas tree from her very own town of Queensbury. Experience the curiosity of her students, and the joy of one particular student, Delaney, as she visits New York City to see this very special tree. The easy flowing narrative of her journey is enhanced by the realistic illustrations of Anthony Richici. This book will definitely make you smile any time of the year!
Connie says…
I bought the book for myself because I was so in to taking pictures and involved with that tree. Love that it’s from the town of Queensbury. Anthony graduated high school with my son, Michael. So incredible that you guys published two local books. Hometown USA is proud.
Colleen says…
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book! I can’t wait for your book on Bryn!
Katie says…
I was so excited to give the books as Christmas gifts. Local gifts are the best! Keep writing!!
Carol says…
I have read both of Mary’s books and they are awesome! Reminds
me of when I used to read to my own children. JJ will have to wait to get
into the intricacies of the Alfie coloring book, but I’m sure his mom will read
the book to him right away. Did the family really have that special license
plate? In the “The 91 st Tree from Queensbury”, I was also intrigued by the
young girl, Delaney. I watched the video of the cutting and loading of the
tree on the website. For me, in Texas, I was proud of my hometown of
Glens Falls. Both books are perfect for children. The pictures and
illustrations are strikingly catching and refreshing!
Candy says…
My grandson loved your books so much he took them to school for

The 91 st Tree from Queensbury is a beautifully written story of a
magnificent Norway Spruce that grew in upstate New York and traveled to Rockefeller
Center, where it delighted millions of visitors during the 2022 holiday season. By
blending fact and fiction, Mary helps the readers understand the pride and enthusiasm
that the locals experienced. This book has been read and enjoyed by three generations
of our family.

A Reader says...
What a joy it was to read The 91st Tree from Queensbury! It shouldn’t just be marketed as a children’s story, but a story for everyone to enjoy.
I found it very educational! Not only did it show how the tree was chosen, but the work that had to be done on it months before it was even taken to NYC. There were illustrations ad actual photos incorporated throughout showing the feeding and watering, etc.
When the tree was almost ready, the local crowd gathered and watched them cut, wrap, and gently place the huge tree on a giant flatbed truck for the trip.
The owners were very proud to donate their tree because they wanted to bring joy, and make their hometown happy and proud.
After Christmas they didn’t just toss the tree by the side of the road for the trashman, every part of the tree was saved!
I have been going to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas during the holidays from early childhood to adulthood. After reading Mary and Anthony’s book, readers will truly see how important that special tree really is.
